Cape Buffalo are mentioned on Liz Leyden's list of animals and birds that she has seen in the Samburu Complex - either Samburu, Buffalo Springs (Hey!), or Shaba....

Good remembering, Okie ! They certainly ARE advertised as game for hunting safaris. I imagine you would want to be a good shot with a rifle, not just a handy knife stabber though.

Yes - the links I posted noted that, too (not the BBQ sauce, the other stuff) - the key thing being that they only kill in retaliation. They are herbivores, after all ... and they bellow like cattle....

It will only attack when it feels under threat, ie if injured, under attack or protecting a vulnerable buffalo - and that's when buffalo's earn their reputation as one of the 'most dangerous' animals...
